Do As Infinity Band Profile: Every band has a starting point and DAI is not an exception. Do As Infinity made it's debut on the 29th of September in 1999. The group was originally formed by Dai Nagao, the band leader. The very acronym DAI is from his name D(o) A(s) I(nfinity). DAI began their performances live in Shibuya and later began to rise up to new heights as the days went by. Do As Infinty is comprised of 3 essential members. Firstly, Dai Nagao. As mentiontioned above, is the group leader. He also writes and composes many of the songs for DAI. He has also written songs for other famous artists such as Ayumi Hamasaki (Award winning 'Seasons') and Hitomi. Dai usually plays the acoustic guitar for the group. However, as DAI became bigger and bigger, he could not devote as much time as he liked to writing and composing. He then made the decison to leave the group in a sense of not appearing in performances and media so that he may spend more time doing what he likes. Second is the lead singer of the group, Tomiko Van. Her alto voice provides the perfect sound for the compositions that Dai comes up with. Various styles include: Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, and more. Tomiko initially started off modeling, but when she was discovered as a singer, she changed tracks to become a part of DAI. Last but definitely not least, the lead guitarist who can play both acoustic and electric, Ryo Owatari. Ryo also often provides a backup singing voice for Tomiko.
